[birdky] ruby throated hummer

i keep four hummingbird feeders at my farm.  i generally put them out  around 
april tenth - per brainard.  
 
i saw the first one today.  a male.  he looked pretty ragged but  they're 
back.   we harvested all the cedars from around our house  as well as the rest 
of 
our farm to push the hardwood succession. i  wondered if they would, and so 
hoped they would come back....and so they have. 
 
there are usually ten or so around in the summer.
