Janet and I joined a group of canoers (canooists? canoodlers?) on the Green
River Sunday. We started in Hart County and went into Mammoth Cave N.P. We had
good looks at 4 bald eagles, including one adult and three younger birds.
Recent warm-month reports on the river plus an apparently nesting pair (adults
seen feeding young on several occasions) on nearby Nolin Lake give me hope that
we may be getting a population established here.
