I observed a pine warbler singing this afternoon in Calloway County. I was at
a friend's place, kind of near Irvan Cobb resort on Kentucky Lake. He has a
large stand of pine forest on his property, and a pine warbler was just
singing his heart out. I don't know if this is one that had been hanging out
for the winter, or a "spring" arrival. (My friend isn't really much of a
birder, so he didn't really know ...) But it was a cheerful sign of spring on
a beautiful day!
