We're with Frank on this one. I feel like all the hummingbirds in the county
are at our feeders this year. It's common to see 6 feeding with a few more
hovering (and fighting!)
Beautiful broad-winged hawk overhead this morning :-)

Subject: [birdky] late summer at Dot
For our tiny corner of the world, this summer has been the richest ever for
hummingbirds. In previous years, a feeder refill would last a week or so and
would often need changing before it was all gone. Lately, the hummies have
been drinking a 2 cup feeder dry every day, with as many as 8 feeding at one
time. I don't know whether our local hummingbirds had excellent breeding
success or we have an influx of late summer wanderers or both.
