That sounds reasonable. They are wintering well south of the US, so they'll
have to go over or around the gulf at some point. It seems odd to me that
they'd be heading east from here. I'm sure they know what they're doing,
though :)

Steve,
        Could they be following prevailing winds? The wind at higher
altitudes might have been northerly with lower winds westerly. There was
some instability in the atmosphere yesterday. We got a 3/4 inch
thundershower from a cloud that looked as small as a wagon sheet on radar. I
had just disked my tobacco patch. Thought I had it ready to sow. Now I'll
have to do it again.
