[birdky] hawks & crows questions

Hello everyone,
I am new to birding and this year is the first time I've noticed hawks being
chased by crows at least a half dozen times this year.  We've seen them in
Lexington and in Frankfort.  

Has this been going on always and we just never noticed it before?  Why is
it always the crows that are chasing the hawks?



Also, my husband grew up in Lexington and said they didn't used to see hawks
or vultures in town, is this new too?
