Our migrating shorebirds won't have any  place to stop in Western KY this 
year.
 
KWW Commends Congressman Whitfield For  Efforts With Corps To Keep Lake 
Levels Higher 
MURRAY, KY -  Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-KY) announced last night that the 
U.S. Army Corps of  Engineers' Nashville District has agreed to extend the lake 
levels on Kentucky  and Barkley Lakes 30-days longer than the original guide 
curve. The change will  begin this summer. Whitfield commended the efforts of 
Kentucky's Western  Waterland (KWW), a regional tourism promotion organization 
in western Kentucky  that represents 15 counties and others interested in 
tourism for helping to  secure the agreement.
