i saw a flycatcher 2 days ago which was clearly an empidonax. i have heard
willow flycatcher singing in michigan; it was a two-note call. this bird was
singing a distinct 3-syllable call, which could have well been the fee-bee-oh
listed in the book for alder flycatchers. however, the petersen cd and another
cd i have don't have a 3 -note call for alder. can anyone shed any light on
this ? i think it was an alder flycatcher, but i've never heard one before that
i know of.
