Blue jays are, of course, common, but I generally never see more than one or two at a time. Yesterday on the Centre campus I saw six feeding under a large tree (which I couldn't identify, not an oak or a maple). I presume small seeds were falling from the tree, attracting the birds, though I couldn't see any. In any case, I thought it was a bit unusual to see six blue jays gathered in one place.
