[birdky] bky RE: periodic cicadas and broken wings

Hap, I agree, cicadas are good food for wildlife and people. BUT try to
convince others of that here in West Kentucky. My next door neighbor is
planning on spraying his back yard with god knows what to kill them because
he says they "stink"!! But, to his credit he brought me a wounded Cedar
Waxwing he rescued from the street today; although, he said it was a wren.
Now I need info on SPLINTING A BROKEN WING. If anybody out there has any
quick home remedies, I am willing to try it. Just back from caring for my
85 yr. old mother who broke her funny bone in 5 pieces. Surely a waxwing
would be easier!! Melissa Easley Murray, Ky.
