[birdky] birdky - northern KY

A quick report on a small area of No.KY. Made a brief visit to the sloughs on
Aurora Ferry Rd in Petersburg, Boone County, yesterday. Numbers minimized
because the aquatic plants are beginning to emerge, and this reduces
observation of the waterfowl, especially in the upper part of the North slough.
 Several Gadwall in with 8+ N.Shovelers, only 4 Mallard, 4 Canada Geese, 1 T.
Vulture, 1 Swallow sp., Meadowlark heard, 1 Blue-wingTeal, 4 G-W Teal, and at
last, 5 Wood Ducks - 3 drakes in bright plummage (in the South slough). Guess
the Woodies didn't want to show up until the plants provided some cover.
Pleasant birding.
