As I feared initially, the EIS was merely a cover to change lake levels
to accommodate the tourism/fishing industry.

Our migrating shorebirds won't have any  place to stop in Western KY
this year.

KWW Commends Congressman Whitfield For  Efforts With Corps To Keep Lake
Levels Higher MURRAY, KY -  Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-KY) announced
last night that the U.S. Army Corps of  Engineers' Nashville District
has agreed to extend the 
lake
levels on Kentucky  and Barkley Lakes 30-days longer than the original
guide curve. The change will  begin this summer. Whitfield commended the
efforts 
of
Kentucky's Western  Waterland (KWW), a regional tourism promotion 
organization
in western Kentucky  that represents 15 counties and others interested
in tourism for helping to  secure the agreement.
