[birdky] birding in lieu of lunch today

27 February 2006:

Â

Today, I birded briefly in lieu of lunch as had meeting in Bowling Green. At B. Griffin Park, besides the apparent resident Canada and Domestic Geese, were the following:

Â

2 Mute Swans,

8 Mallards (not associating with the tame birds),

1 Lesser Scaup,

1 Bufflehead &,

2 Pied-bille d Grebes.

Â

At Petros Pond in western Warren County were:

Â

1 Canada Goose,

4 Mallards,

38 Wilsonâs Snipe, and

2 American Pipits.

Â

The 2 domestic mostly black goose-duck-things were also present today.

Â

Meanwhile, I continue to hear Americ an Woodcocks giving the âpeetâ call at dusk and just after each evening ,my home in southern Russellville.

That concludes this report
