[birdky] Whooping Crane Migration Route

According to columnist Len Wells, in the Evansville Sunday Courier &
Press, the route of Operation Migration is being routed further west
from previous years.
The route will take the Whooping Cranes south through Illinois then
crossing into Kentucky in Union County where they are to spend the
night.
Director of communications for Operation Migration says " The route
was shifted west because the easterly route was pretty scary."
"Going over the Cumberland Ridge, there was no place to set down to
retrieve a bird if there had been a problem."
They hope that they will have better weather and pick up more
favorable winds.
Currently the stopover location in Union Co. is a secret.
The migration is scheduled to begin in Wisconsin on October 17th.
