[birdky] Who captured Baghdad ?

Dear KY-Birders:
With all due respect, Ken Leggett sort of overstated what happened on
TN-Birds about changing the reply function.
It got a little righteous when Ken kind of took credit for getting that
changed on TN-Birds. But that's OK Ken. While I don't really recall your
effort, I don't doubt that you did try to get that changed. But you are
just one among many who take credit for that. I wouldn't want everyone on
KY-Birds to think you single handly captured Baghdad :-)

everyone thinks it a blessing."
So Ken and other can see that had been going on MANY years before he spent a
year seeking the change. Note that Jeff metnioned that "we" did it so there
must have been others. Don't you think?
But, hey! TN-Birds Net was less than two years old (22 months) when
everyone finally convinced me to make the change.
Then, in a message to TN-Birds Net on Oct. 30, 2002, I wrote:
TN-Birders:
Mr. Chris Sloan has suggested that when you click reply to
a message that it will go directly back to the original
sender and not back to the list ! Can you imagine that ?
Well, I've put off doing that but I think Mr. Chris has hit on
a very good point. The Ooops message have reached
a point we need to do something.
So here is the technical talk:
TN-Bird list has now been set to "Forcibly set the Reply-To:
header to be the address the mail came from."
In layman terms that means, if you hit reply it goes to the
person who made the original post. If you want to reply
to the entire net, you now must make a new message.
Now, if you don't like it that is Mr. Chris Sloan's fault but
don't blame him. Blame me. I just set it the way he
suggested and Mr. Chris is absolutely correct.
Thank you Mr. Chris for making this a better list and
for making me a better moderator :-)
Let's go birding....
