[birdky] Surf Scoters at Jonathan Creek

A great day to be in the field!  Barry Hart and I ran a shorebird  survey of 
Blood River and Jonathan Creek.  The lake levels are high due to  the rain and 
shorebird habitat was scarce.
The following highlights were recorded:
 
Blood River Area
 
Northern Pintail
Blue-winged Teal
Gadwall

American White Pelican - 400+ (they seem to be roosting on the  Islands)
Northern Harrier
Bald Eagle
Solitary Sandpiper - 1 Barry Hart @ Wildcat Area
Least Sandpiper
Bonaparte's Gull
 
Jonathan Creek Area
SURF SCOTER - 13 bird resting (the largest group I've seen in the  area)
Cackling Goose - 1 Thanks to Melissa Easley
Ruddy Duck
Gadwall
Greater yellowlegs - 5
Pectoral Sandpiper - 4
Least Sandpiper - 45+
Forster's Tern  - 70
Bonaparte's Gull
Herring Gull
