We drove home from town through 739 to see if the corn had been shelled yet -
not. Also noticed that there was a mown strip on one end of the field, so I
decided to come back and see what I could see. Had a fair pay off. Besides many
Canada Geese, Blue-winged Teals, Killdeer, & 2 Wood Ducks, there was a single
juvenile Black Tern and a family group of 5 Pied-billed Grebes. Other
shorebirds included a few each of Pectoral & Least Sandpipers, Lesser
Yellowlegs, and one Spotted Sandpiper. Ebird Checklist with pictures here -
