[birdky] Sloughs: Wilson's Phalarope & other birds

50º patchy light fog, clear, rising to 80º & clear
I covered in order: Gentle Pond, 268 slough, Shorebird impoundment, Wood Tract, Hardy Slough,
Pond Creek Marsh, and walked to the Ohio.

Highlights:

Wilson's Phalarope 1 male at shorebird impoundment of Sauerheber Unit.
He was associating with Lesser Yellowlegs and Dunlins.
A life bird for me!

Great Egret, FOS, @ Pond Creek between Hardy Slough and the shorebird impoundment.
Broadwing Hawk, pair circling over Gentle Pond.
Solitary Sandpipers everywhere there was water.
Pectoral Sandpiper 1 @ shorebird impoundment
Dunlins 25 @ shorebird impoundment
Great-crested Flycatcher, FOS, at Gentle Pond
Sedge Wren @ Gentle Pond
Catbird FOS @ Gentle Pond
Blue-winged Warbler @ Gentle Pond
N. Waterthrush @ Gentle Pond
Yellow-breasted Chat, FOS, adjacent to Ohio River
Indigo Buntings, FOS
White-crowned & White-throated Sparrows still around

I drove out and checked on Horseshoe Road slough, I couldn't see much from the road.
The fields around it are all planted with very young and tender corn coming up.
So I decided it would not be a good idea to walk through the newly planted field.

Bald Eagles:
I keep seeing an adult Bald Eagle hanging around Hardy Slough. On the south side
of the slough there appears to be a nest that has not been added to since I first saw it
just after March 15th, and it does seem like it was supposed to be an eagles nest and not
completed.
Activity at the other nests: the north nest had an adult poking its head up out of the nest.
I'm not too sure what is going on at the south nest. There was an adult perched in a tree near
it for a while; but I could not see anything going on at the nest.
