[birdky] Sloughs Sunday

We went to the sloughs in search of the Glossy Ibis and shorebirds today.
Thanks to Kathy's sharp eye, we had good looks at the Lark Sparrow.
We slopped around in the marsh for awhile but never saw the Ibis. We did
look through a nice collection of shorebirds with 10 species recorded. Listed
below are the highlights. We had a few snakes cross our paths, warblers and
summer residents were enjoyed by all.
Blue-winged Teal
Bald Eagle
Killdeer
Greater yellowlegs
Lesser yellowlegs
Solitary Sandpiper
Spotted Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Dunlin - 3
Short-billed dowitcher
Wilson's Snipe
Melissa and I stopped at the Buffalo Overlook on Highway 453 at the dams. A
female Scissor-tailed flycatcher was seen sitting on a line by the highway.
