breezy

Horseshoe Road slough was accessible again but only 3 sandpipers
268 slough: killdeer, 6 Canada Geese
I spent the rest of the day at Cape Hills Unit.

Highlights:
Red-tailed Hawk deep in the woods
Dunlin at farm pond along 268
Barred Owl Junival; all fuzzy
Wood Thrush
Orange-crowned Warbler (FOS)
Black-throated Green Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler (FOS)
Kentucky Warbler
Scarlet Tanager (FOS)
Summer Tanager

Non-bird:
Skunks 2
Fox 1 with 2 moles in its jaws

60º, clear, rising to 75º

Shorebird Unit, Hardy Slough, Pond Creek Marsh, 268 slough

Shorebird Unit water is getting good for Shorebirds, but only saw one Blue-winged Teal, and 2 Black-necked Stilts that landed stuck around about 5 minutes and left.
Wood Tract: only water left is at impoundment at Shorebird Unit.
268 slough lots of water, but a nice group of Sandpipers on the east end.

Highlights:
Green Heron at Hardy Slough
Red-tailed Hawk
Bobwhites calling everywhere
Spotted Sandpipers: 1 at PCM, another at 268 slough
Semi-palmated Sandpipers: 35 at 268 slough (FOS)
Black-necked Stilt: 2 (FOS) at Shorebird Unit, later they landed at Hardy Slough
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (FOS) several
Barred Owl
Cedar Waxwings: 2 at Muddy Slough (FOS)
Yellow Warbler at Hardy Slough
Mourning Warbler at PCM (FOS)
Orchard Oriole at PCM
Baltimore Oriole at Wood Tract
Blue Grosbeak (seems to be a lot of them this year)
Dickcissels (seems to be a lot this year)
