[birdky] September 15 and 16

The Red Phalarope was again present at Jonathan Creek
on Kentucky Lake yesterday, Septmeber 15. Three Stilt
Sandpipers were also present among the previously
reported shorebirds, and a 1st yr. Franklin's Gull was
resting among the flock of Ring-billed Gulls. An
adult Lesser Black-backed Gull was seen above the dam
on Kentucky Lake.

A walk along the ditch through the field which holds
McElroy Lake in Warren County this afternoon,
September 16, yielded a few migrants. Although the
ditch is dry and the corn has been harvested around
it, vegetation in the ditch is making for good cover
and food for seed-eating birds. At least 20 Savannah
Sparrows and 12 Bobolinks were present, as was a Marsh
Wren, several Dickcissels, and lots of Indigo
Buntings. A Northern Harrier was also observed.

Yard birds along Drakes Creek this morning included
Yellow-bellied and Least Flycatchers.
