I arrived at the site just as Roseanna was leaving. Watched the area for 2.5
hours and gave up, BUT found the bird as I was driving out. It was on the power
lines flycatching over the road. Took lots of pics. Hopefully there will be a
good one. Also met Mrs. Tarter. Very nice lady welcoming folks to come look.

Subject: [birdky] Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
We went to look for the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher reported to eBird and
Facebook while I was out of town. We saw it, but didn't get a very long look.
It flew down the hill and across the creek. We later saw it briefly on the
other side of the creek perched in a downed dead tree at a distance.
I wasn't able to get in contact with Joy Tarter who had seen and photographed
the bird on 15 May, so we were just driving around looking along the road and
lucked into her. She invited us to go on her property where she had seen it and
look. She said birders were welcome to come to look for the bird. She said when
she has seen the bird it was at the top of her hill on the fence or on the line
and would fly down to the creek.
The location can be seen by clicking on my eBird checklist below, then clicking
map.
