This was another marvelous birdy weekend.  We ended with 51 species,
including the Inca Dove mentioned earlier, which takes our "house list" to
142 species.  51 species is, by far, our highest August count in the six
years that we've been doing this.  We managed that count, even though
missing a Tree Swallow, Nuthatch and Carolina Wren.  

Eight birders came from far and wide, to get a look at the Inca Dove today,
and it cooperated for all.though it made the Grahams work a littleJ.  We saw
it under the feeders around noon and at the birdbath (while we ate supper),
so we're hoping it stays around for a while.   

I posted a photo of a Great Crested Flycatcher that landed at about face
level, 40 feet in front of me, with the sun at my back.  That's the first
I've ever photographed one here.  Link follows:
