We counted  38 species during the first three days of the GBBC.  We saw
nothing really out of the ordinary this year, other than 23 Black Vultures
on Friday, 37 Goldfinches and 17 Cardinals today.  The notable misses, this
year, were Bluebirds, Carolina Wrens and Shrikes.

I posted a photo of a Red-tail, taken on Friday, that Brainard suggests may
have some western subspecies genes, or even be from eastern Canada, due to
the tail banding and dark throat - thanks Brainard!  I also posted a photo
of a Chickadee that provided a rare photo opportunity on Friday.  It was
sitting still, "hiding" from the Sharpie that was lurking nearby.  I
probably got ten photos, before it worked up the courage to flee.  Flickr
links follow.
