After some time away, it was good to be home and in the normal routine this
weekend.  We counted 36 species, which ties for our highest January weekend
count (this is the sixth year we've kept a weekend count).   I saw several
flocks of restless Canada Geese early this morning and probably near 100
Black Vultures, heading to roost, at about 4:20 this afternoon.  We watched
the leucistic Red-tail and its mate soaring overhead, several times, through
the weekend.  After an extended silence, I heard Collared Doves calling
again. all weekend.  I heard the GHO call once at about 11:00 this morning!
The big highlight was the Sandhills that I heard in the NE at about 3:30
CST.  I never did see them.
