[birdky] Saturday, Jan. 28 observations

Sloughs WMA. Amazing number of mangled trees. Must have been a terrific
storm that blew through that area.
 * 26 (!) Ross's geese grazing in the field near the Hardy Slough
observation tower. Only 3 snow geese with them. Videotaped.
 * Wilson's snipe over Hardy Slough
 * missed the tundra swans
 * green-winged teal
 * wild turkey flock along 268
 * otherwise similar to Charlie Crawford's report. The convention of
ring-necked ducks at Anderson Pond is impressive.

 * redhead (1 male)
 * bufflehead, green-winged teal, ring-necked ducks and other common species

Peabody WMA
 * no short-eared owls or rough-legged hawks seen

-River Queen unit
 * merlin near the lake. Videotaped.

-Sinclair unit
