[birdky] Sandhills in Henderson County

On Sunday afternoon, approximately 4:30 we had a flock of 25 Sandhill
Cranes flying at tree top height in eastern Henderson County.  They were
flying in a northerly direction directly overhead, crossing Griffin
Graves Creek Rd and almost parallel with Barren Church Road.  Since they
were flying so low we though there may be a possibility that they would
put down so we attempted to follow them but found no signs of them.  We
finally tried the old strip mine areas east of Zion and although we did
not find the Cranes we did see at least 6 Northern Harriers and 1 Short
Eared Owl.

In addition Horned Larks continue to be abundant along Griffin Graves
and Airline Roads.
