[birdky] Ruffed Grouse

Hi All,
Well, things haven't been too exciting here in Pike County. But, today
when Les and I went up into our mountains here in Happy Valley, we were
very pleased to see a beautiful male grouse flush up in front of us. I
know that they must nest in the area because they always seem to be
present in the same general place. There is plenty of squirrel corn
there for them and evidence that they have been digging it up.

BTW the early spring wildflowers covered the forest floor and the
wonderful sweet smell of Harbinger-of Spring and Spring Beauties filled
the upper hollow.

Cheers, Joan of Art and Nature, Pike Co., S. Williamson, KY
