[birdky] Roost Ring

Found a Mini-roost ring of Martins at Gorin Park in Glasgow tonight.  I would 
guess around 2,000 birds; maybe 10% starlins & grackles.  This numbers was 
maybe 20% of what was there last year.  Had the first Martin to appear at 6:45 
pm; peak was between 7:00 - 7:15 pm.  There were a few thin clouds and still in 
the upper 80 degrees.  The birds seemed to be coming in really high up, then 
just dropping out of the sky.  
Last year, the birds were so thick you could see them coming with the naked 
eye; tonight had to use binoculars to see them coming in.  Last year, every 
wire in the park was covered, shoulder to shoulder, in birds.  This year, one 
wire had about 70 birds.  Last year, every tree was totally filled with birds; 
this year, had maybe 12 trees filled with birds.  Last year, the noise was at 
incredibly high level; this year, very little noise.
