[birdky] Red-breasted Merganser at U'town Dam on the Ohio River

Better day for birding this morning (1/16) than yesterday.

7AM 42º clear, by 8AM 48º partly cloudy.

Short birding day!!!

I drove directly to Uniontown Dam in Union Co. this morning.

The usual suspects were present:

Pied-billed grebes: 10
Great Blue Heron 1
Ring-necked Ducks: 25
Canvasbacks: 25
Hooded Merganser: 2 males
Red-breasted Merganser: 1 male, 2 females
Ring-billed gulls not many: 10-15

I was then headed to Highland Creek Unit of the Sloughs.
But, my birding day was cut short by broken timing belt.
I was surprised that my cellphone found enough of a signal
that I could call a tow truck.

So I'll go birding another day.
