[birdky] RPT:berry eaters

Saturday-Oct 16, 2004: While exploring the Yatesville Lake Wildlife Area
in Lawrence County in the morning, a pileated woodpecker landed on a
tree near me and proceeded to eat poison ivy berries. Always fun to
watch pileated woodpeckers eat berries. Then a Carolina chickadee
zoomed in and landed about 18 inches from the pileated and began eating
the berries as well. Later in the afternoon back in Rowan County, I
bumped 2 ruffed grouse out from under an American bittersweet vine that
was loaded with orange and red berries.
