[birdky] RPT:02/21-22,White-winged Scoter, Falls of the Ohio and other interesting finds

I spent a brief few hours in the evening birding the Zappos property, with 
limited results at Zappos but a productive feeding station on a side road down 
the street was fairly productive.  I also went to the Falls of the Ohio with 
Jack Still on Saturday for an hour and a half.

Zappos and Shepherdsville 4:00-5:45pm

Canada Goose
Red-tailed Hawk-1 constantly being dived upon by crows
Bald Eagle-1 ad. flying over I-65 at the Salt River
Black Vulture-2 flying to roost
Killdeer-16 in low flooded field just downwind from small cemetery
Common Snipe-1 flushed with Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Rock Dove
American Crow
Blue Jay
American Robin
Northern Mockingbird
Euro Starling
Wren sp.-never popped up most birds were skittish and sitting still in brush- 
sounded like it could have been a House Wren
Yellow-rumped Warbler-2
Northern Cardinal
Eastern Towhee-heard
White-crowned Sparrow-6 probably more at a busy feeding station
Song Sparrow-many, the only sparrow encountered on the Zappos property
American Tree Sparrow-8 probably more
Chipping Sparrow-1 seen on feeder on second sweep by the feeders
Dark-eyed Junco
House Finch
American Goldfinch
House Sparrow

Falls of the Ohio and lake behind Holiday Inn 10:30-12:00am
not a lot of bird species but decent showing of ducks

Northern Shoveler-14 on lake
Ring-necked Duck-3 lake
Lesser Scaup-12 both
Greater Scaup-40+ most I've positively identified
Canvasback-8 both
Hooded Merganser-2 lake
Bufflehead-9 both
Common Goldeneye-8 fem.
White-winged Scoter-1 ad. male and fem./imm. most likely ad. fem. resting in 
close to shore with large flock of mixed aythya sp.
Horned Grebe-18 or so scattered on the river with ducks close to shore very 
good looks through the scope
