In a rush to get my post out just now, I obviously neglected to mention the
best waterfowl of the afternoon on the river ... three White-winged Scoters,
two in the basin near the Indiana side just above McAlpine Dam and one (the
bird seen earlier in the week) just below the 2nd Street bridge with a
mixed-species flock of scaup.
