[birdky] Re: RPT: Wandering[?] Brown Pelican observed at Lake Carnico ...

Brown pelican at Carnico-- We were told on Thursday, 5/21, by Carnico residents
that a pelican had been at the lake for 2 or 3 days, so on Thursday PM we
checked it out by boat, found (and photographed) a first-yr. juvenile Florida
(Atlantic) Brown Pelican roosting on the large dead tree (our "osprey tree") at
the far side of the lake from, but easily visible from, the road over the dam.
We weren't able to get back to check on it yesterday but will do so today.

Perhaps the tale of the wandering Brown Pelican continues ... this afternoon I
received an email from a former co-worker, Wendell Haag, who saw a Brown
Pelican on Lake Carnico in Nicholas County on the afternoon of May 19th
(Tuesday).
