I rarely see them here, but one winter a few years ago one impaled a =
house finch on a star magnolia branch and nibbled at its frozen carcass =
for a few days. This occurred at my bird feeders right outside our =
kitchen window in Danville.

This afternoon  I saw a Loggerhead Shrike on a wire on US 68, roughly 1 =
