[birdky] RPT: Selfish Mockingbird?

While we were visiting my parents in Bowling Green over Christmas, my big
brother and I enjoyed watching the antics of a Northern Mockingbird who was
"guarding" a platform feeder in Mom & Dad's front yard.

The mocking bird would land on the feeder, and chase all the smaller birds
away. He'd then hang out there for a minute or two, then fly off. Within a few
minutes, a dozen or so smaller birds (Goldfinches, House Finches, White-crowned
Sparrows, Titmice, Chickadees) would land on the platform and start to feed.
The mocker would then swoop in and scatter them. This cycle was repeated
constantly throughout the entire day!
