[birdky] RPT: Paradise CBC results

I have yet to receive info from all parties for the December 30th count,
but I have preliminary, incomplete results listed below:

10 observers were in 4 to 5 parties. The rains held off and the day was
quite nice, if not cloudy enough to keep raptors down in the afternoon.
We had at least 82 species, which is lower than normal primarily due to
the low waterfowl diversity (mostly attributable to the mild weather).

Raptor numbers seemed stable to up (particular Short-eared Owls, which
were conspicuous for the first time in a few years). At least a couple
of Rough-legged Hawks were seen.

Highlights of which I am presently aware include Ross's Goose (now 2 at
Island Lake in Ohio Co.), Black-crowned Night-Heron (apparently found in
both Ohio and Muhlenberg cos.), only singles of both vulture species
(not sure where in the heck the rest were? ? ?), Virginia Rail (6 total
at 3 different marshes in Muhlenberg Co.), Wilson's Snipe (3 in Ohio
Co.), American Woodcock (5 calling/performing birds), Short-eared Owl (I
think our count will be 17), Marsh Wren (2), Eastern Phoebe (SEVEN in
one Ohio Co.), Red-breasted Nuthatch (only 4), Le Conte's Sparrow (7
total at 2 locations in Muhlenberg Co.).
