I spent about 60-90 minutes at a few of the usual spots along the river this afternoon. The river was noticeably down compared to yesterday; an additional 5-10 feet of shoreline at Ashland Park and 1-2 more feet of the retaining wall opposite the Falls of the Ohio interpretive center were exposed. There were at least 18 White-winged Scoters at the mouth of Beargrass Creek to go along with another 3 off the Buckheads parking lot. A few Rusties were in the trees across from the marina behind the condos off of River Rd. Roughly 30 scaup (mostly Lesser) were in the main basin at Ashland Park. Otherwise pretty quiet; I didn't see a single grebe, Red-necked or otherwise, at any of the locations.
