[birdky] RPT: No gallinule

Roseanna Denton and I searched without luck for about an hour for the Rowan
County Purple Gallinule yesterday afternoon. It is quite possible that it is
just hiding in the weeds that surround a couple of likely small ponds. There
may be additional searches by others for the bird, in which case I'm sure
any positive results will be passed along the BIRDKY.

The locale is about 20 minutes from the Minor Clark Fish Hatchery, so we
swung by there and found only a smattering of shorebirds: 25 Killdeer; 20-25
Pectoral Spipers (most all in nice juv plumage); 1 juv Semi Spiper; 1 juv
Least Spiper; and 1 juv Stilt Spiper. Otherwise, only a few common waterfowl
and waders. We heard that the Peregrine Falcon reported there a few weeks
ago has continued to be seen off and on.
