[birdky] RPT: Misc highlights west KY May 2-4

Decided to post separately on a few highlights of some survey work, mostly
unproductive rail surveys, in western KY the past few days:

May 2:

Sauerheber Unit Sloughs WMA, Henderson Co ... was hoping to hear King Rails at
more than one place, but didn't hear a one anywhere :o( Shorebirds were not
numerous at Sauerheber, but there were 6 dowitchers, at least 2 Long-billed; 2
near-alternate Western Sandpipers (perhaps leftovers of Charlie's five earlier
in the week); small numbers of Dunlin at a few different spots.

Channel 25 TV tower in Henderson ... 7 birds of 5 common species in fresh
condition

Camp #11, Union Co ... 4 Common Moorhens; 3 Least Bitterns heard; 2 Marsh Wrens
heard

May 3:

Peabody WMA, Sinclair Unit and environs ... 2 Willow Flycats; Bell's Vireos
back in force; Virginia Rails heard at two different marshes

May 4:

Kentucky Dam vicinity -- quick scans ... alternate Red-necked Grebe still
present, diving along the dam not far from the beach; 10 Common Loons
scattered; ad. Laughing Gull on a jetty near Eddyville; small numbers of
Forster's Terns (sev dozen total); Caspian Terns, and Bonaparte's Gulls (1 ad;
2 first-years); Lesser Scaup and 1 male Ring-necked Duck still present on Lake
Barkley above dam and at Kuttawa.
