[birdky] RPT: Merlin - Greenup County

Feb. 28, 2008: About 200 yards from the parking lot of the South Shore
WMA, a Merlin was perched on one of the fence posts between the cow
pasture and the cornfield.  It was consuming a small mammal that it had
just captured.  On nearby private land, I bumped into savannah sparrows,
a white-crowned sparrow, and a swamp sparrow.  Raptors on the private
land included a male harrier and a red-tailed hawk.
