[birdky] RPT: Louisville waterbirds Sept 9 2006

The Great Black-backed Gull continued at the Falls of the Ohio, although there
were fewer shorebirds with nothing unusual in the mix.

The Melco flood retention basin is just about dry, but the remaining pools are
still holding most of what has been there for nearly a week. Today there were
again 14 species of shorebirds. The Buffies put on a really nice show:

1 Semi Plover
ca 50 Killdeer
3 or 4 Greater Yellowlegs
50+ Lesser Yellowlegs
1 Willet
1 Spotted Sandpiper
1 Solitary Sandpiper
25-30 Pectoral Sandpipers
5+ Semi Sandpipers
15-20 Least Sandpipers
1 Baird's Sandpiper
10+ Short-billed Dowitchers
15-20 Stilt Sandpipers
2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers
