26 January:
3 Tundra Swans remain at Lake Herndon as of this AM at about 9:00 CDT.
There were 2 immature birds and a adult. This is in reverse of my
recollection from last week, but the light was much better today and the
birds were quite close. I could not see yellow in the "lore", but the
very thin black line in front of the eye implied that there might be a
yellow-whitish area of skin/beak that was not definable. I continue to
believe that these birds are Tundra.
Also present were around 100 Canada Geese of various "races" and at
least 3 Gadwall, 2 Mallard, 2 Canvasback, and 1 lone male Ring-necked
Duck.
That concludes this report.
