I did mean to say Semi-palmated..., not Wilson's.... In fact, I tried to
correct myself, but I managed to make an error and it did not so appear in
circulation on BIRDKY. I thought it might have come over the net by now,
but since it has not, I will simply take this opportunity and ride this
correction. I got on the "Wilson's mental Express" and extended the name
from Phalarope to Plover without realizing what I had done until I read my
own post.

Subject: [birdky] Re: RPT: KY 739 Transient Lake-Pond and other Logan birds
today
Before Mark arrived at 739 pond, a flock of Semi-palmated Sandpipers and
Semi-palmated Plovers walked up and nearly surrounded me. After taking
advantage of having such closeby birds for picture-taking, I began scanning
the flock with my naked eye and saw the female Wilson's Phalarope. At the
same moment I comprehended the phalarope, the flock took flight. When it
settled back down, the phalarope was nowhere to be seen. It began to rain. I
gave up relocating it and was about to leave when Mark arrived. While
waiting for him to walk down, I scanned some more and picked up the
phalarope again.
As we both stood watching, the whole flock began walking up near us
again and we picked up 3 phalaropes. As usual, I was about out of memory. I
had an extra memory card this time but did not want to change it while
standing in mud in a light rain. I got one blurry shot of the female with
its head ducked in the water and another with a drop of water on my camera
lens.
I think Mark meant to say Semi-palmated instead of Wilson's Plover.
