[birdky] RPT: Henslow's Sparrow

Working on the family farm all weekend was enjoyable, but not having
binoculars around your neck can be frustrating (I sometimes keep an old pair
with me, but it is not conducive to getting things done!). Besides numerous
Savannah and Vesper Sparrows, at dusk on Saturday evening I heard a
Henslow's Sparrow sing 8-10 times from one of the Indian grass fields. Mark
Monroe and I noted a few years ago that even territorial Henslow's don't
seem to sing (at least in earnest) upon their earliest arrival. We have
flushed several birds in early April that were not singing. This bird was no
doubt a migrant and was not singing loudly.
