The spot where this bird was reported to have been seen did not look
very good for one; however, there is open farmland around the spot.
Brunerstown Road is the second right from I-64 as you head south from
the interchange; the bird was said to have been seen on a utility pole
at the home at 6320 Brunerstown Road. I will try to make a few inquiries
from others in the vicinity of any other observations. I did see a
couple of Red-tails, a few kestrels, a Cooper's Hawk, and 6 Sandhill
Cranes loafing along the shoreline of a farm pond.

Subject: [birdky] RPT: Possible Snowy Owl sighting in Shelby County
Horace Brown called a few minutes ago to tell me that an acquaintence of
his reported seeing a Snowy Owl along Brunerstown Road in southwestern
Shelby County back on January 30th. This is near Exit 32 off I-64 (KY
55) ... Ky Gazetteer page 36, block D-1. The described location was
between I-64 and Bullskin Creek on a utility pole.
Even though it's been two weeks since this observation, I'll try running
by there today just for the heck of it.
