[birdky] RPT: Cherokee Park September 27 and 28


This is a late report for birding in Cherokee Park on September 27 and 28, or Wednesday and Thursday respectively. I had two fairly windy but productive days birding. The highlight was what I now believe to be an imm. Peregrine Falcon. Other highlights:


September 27, 5:30-7:30 pm
beautiful Red-sh. Hawk
Common Nighthawks
Least Flycatcher
Tree Swallow
Ovenbird
fem. Mourning Warbler
Rose-br. Grosbeaks

September 28, 5:30-8:00 pm
4 Great Blue herons in flight
Eastern Phoebe
25 Tennessee Warblers
2 Nashville Warblers
1 Chesnut-sd. Warbler
15 Magnolia Warblers
1 Black-thr. Green Warbler
1 Blackburnian Warbler
2 Bay-br. Warblers
12 American Redstarts
2 Common Yellowthroats
20 Rose-br. Grosbeaks
