[birdky] RPT: Boone County area and feeders

January 30, 2004
Hello All !

Had a chance to bird some on this beautifully snowy day.
Wow, does that snow light up the woods and scenery !
We've got about 5 inches of snow on the ground after last night's addition.

A drive this morning found the below highlights:

> 2 Brown Creepers, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and 1 nice adult Cooper's Hawk
all at the top section of Middle Creek Road

> 1 Lapland Longspur with 25 Horned Larks at the "Hunt Club" horse farm
> approximately 6-1/2" miles from Burlington near Belleview Bottoms.

NEW at our feeders yesterday and today:
> 4 Fox Sparrows
( always great to see and we've never had more than 1 before in past winters )
> 2 Tree Sparrows
> 1 Pair of Hairy Woodpeckers
> 1 Brown Creeper

Good Birding!
