I am currently working up the winter 2007-2008 season report for The
Kentucky Warbler. Apparently only a couple of the reports of
patagial-marked Ring-billed Gulls from fall 2007/winter 2007-2008 in
Kentucky got to the USDA.
If you saw one this past fall/winter, could you send me an email and
remind me of the date and location? The USDA *did* receive the reports
from Markland Dam, Gallatin Co. on 11/23/2007 (Matt Stickel, I think)
and Ky Dam on 12/4/2007 (Hap Chambers, I think). I believe there was
also at least one at the Falls of the Ohio that I would turn in.
Also ... below is a brief summary of where all the reports of these
birds came in from. You may recall that they were patagial tagged on the
Lake Michigan waterfront in the Chicago area in the spring/summer of
2007. Interesting stuff.
bpb, Frankfort
We heard from 16 states and 1 Canadian province. The breakdown is as
follows:
State Number of Reports
As you can see they headed generally southeast from Chicago.
Orange and yellow tags were reported at a higher rate than the blue and
green tags.
Thanks for your interest and support of the project!
