Hi all,
I will be in Harland County in southeastern KY for 4 weeks for school,
starting on Monday, visiting from the northeast. I have never birded the
area, nor do I have a bird-finding guide for the state. I have a few
questions about the area:
1) Are there any Red-cockaded Woodpeckers left in the region?
2) How about nearby shorebird hotspots (wetlands, productive farm fields,
low ponds/lakes)?
3) Any general birding suggestions would be welcome. On weekends I may be
able to travel a good couple hours or so in any direction.
Thanks a lot,
Nick
